Stichting IDEIS Shares Groundbreaking Research at PCINU Belanda’s International Conference 2025

[Groningen, 01.10.2025] – Stichting IDEIS is proud to have participated as a key academic contributor at the 4th PCINU Belanda’s Biennial International Conference, titled “Harmony in Turbulence: The Intersection of Faith, Climate Justice, and Global Peace”. The conference, held from 1-3 & 12 October 2025 across Groningen, Amsterdam, and The Hague, served as a vital platform for interdisciplinary dialogue, and our volunteers were honoured to present their pioneering research.

The conference theme resonated deeply with IDEIS's core mission to foster understanding and bridge societal divides through education and critical discourse. Our academicians delivered presentations that tackled some of the most pressing issues at the nexus of faith, identity, and global challenges.

Highlights of IDEIS Presentations

Our team presented on a range of critical topics, showcasing the depth and relevance of our research initiatives:

“ZELVI and Radicalization – A Pedagogical Approach to Religious Identity”

This presentation explored innovative educational strategies to counter radicalization by fostering a strong, positive religious identity. The research emphasized pedagogical tools that encourage critical thinking and resilience against extremist narratives.

“From Decolonisation to Decoloniality: Religious Education as a Space of Liberation”

This session reframed religious education as a dialogical classroom—a safe space for liberating the "colonised I-positions" within the multivoiced self. The presentation argued for an educational model that does justice to a multiplicity of voices, moving beyond theory to practical application in diverse learning environments.

“Muslim Discourses of Environmental Issues in the Digital Space: A YouTube-Based Analysis”

Addressing the critical intersection of faith and climate justice, this research analyzed how environmental issues are discussed within Muslim communities online. By examining content on platforms like YouTube, the presentation shed light on emerging eco-theological discourses and their potential for driving real-world change.

“Migration and Security: Common Misconceptions and Urban Myths”

This presentation directly engaged with themes of global peace by deconstructing prevalent myths linking migration to insecurity. The evidence-based analysis provided a crucial corrective to common misconceptions, promoting a more nuanced and factual public discourse.

A Commitment to Dialogue and Impact

The participation of Stichting IDEIS in this prestigious conference underscores our commitment to being at the forefront of academic and social dialogue. By engaging with international scholars, community leaders, and policymakers, our volunteers have helped to amplify perspectives that are essential for building harmony in an increasingly turbulent world.

“We are thrilled that our research was received with such enthusiasm and rigorous debate,” said a representative from the IDEIS team. “Contributing to a conference that so perfectly aligns with our goals—bridging faith with justice, education with liberation, and analysis with peace—is a testament to the importance of our work. It is through these exchanges that we can collectively challenge misconceptions and inspire informed action.”

The connections and insights gained from the PCINU Belanda conference will directly inform Stichting IDEIS's ongoing projects and future initiatives, as we continue our work to empower communities through knowledge.
