Overview
One of the most critical processes shaping the future of societies is the transmission of values and social norms to young individuals. Especially during adolescence, character development offers both immense potential and significant challenges. Our new meta-synthesis study, titled "Adolescence and Character Education" and led by Prof. Dr. İlhan Kaçire, sheds light on how character education should be approached during this crucial stage.
The study thoroughly examines key findings, including the necessity of making character education a mandatory subject in secondary school curricula, the importance of stakeholder collaboration, the competencies required by educators, the impact of value hierarchies on character development, and the effectiveness of existing character education programs. It also explores how character education specifically tailored to the realities of today's adolescents should be structured.
If you are interested in gaining a comprehensive perspective on character development during adolescence and learning how values transmission in education can be made more effective, this study is a must-read!
