Certificate Program ‘The Dutch Education and Cultural System and the Muslim Community’ Has Concluded with 114 Participants.
The certificate programme ‘Het Nederlandse Onderwijs- en Cultuursysteem en de Islamitische Gemeenschap: Gedeelde Waarden en Ervaringen’, organised by the IDEIS Institute for Education and Research, concluded on 23 August 2026 with a certificate ceremony held in Utrecht. Certificates were presented to 114 participants who successfully completed the programme.
The programme was designed to provide a deeper understanding of the Dutch education and cultural system, to reflect on the experiences of the Muslim community within this system, and to highlight shared values among different segments of society. The certificate ceremony marked the conclusion of the educational programme.
Reflections on Shared Values and Education
During the certificate ceremony, Abdulsamet Alan, Alper Alasag, and Prof. Dr. İbrahim Kurt addressed the participants.
Abdulsamet Alan reflected on the overall framework of the programme and the experiences of participants throughout the educational process. He highlighted the importance of education, mutual understanding, and shared values in strengthening a culture of living together within Dutch society.
Alper Alasag addressed the importance of understanding the Dutch education and cultural system in enabling individuals from diverse cultural and social backgrounds to participate actively in society. He emphasised that educational activities should go beyond the transfer of knowledge and also promote mutual understanding, communication, and social participation.
Prof. Dr. İbrahim Kurt focused on the academic and educational dimensions of the programme, examining the relationship between the Dutch education system, cultural structures, values, and the experiences of the Muslim community. He emphasised the importance of developing shared values, understanding differences, and fostering a healthy culture of living together through education in a society where diverse worldviews and perspectives coexist.
Certificates Presented to 114 Participants
Following the speeches, the certificate presentation ceremony took place. Certificates were presented to 114 participants who successfully completed the programme.
The programme was marked by strong engagement and positive feedback from participants. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of translating the knowledge and experiences gained during the educational process into everyday life and broader participation in society.
Contributing to a Culture of Living Together Through Education
The programme ‘Het Nederlandse Onderwijs- en Cultuursysteem en de Islamitische Gemeenschap: Gedeelde Waarden en Ervaringen’ aimed not only to contribute to a better understanding of the Dutch education and cultural system, but also to create a constructive platform for dialogue between the experiences of the Muslim community and the shared values present within Dutch society.
Through its educational and research activities, the IDEIS Institute for Education and Research aims to continue contributing to stronger mutual understanding, social participation, and a culture of living together among different social and cultural communities.
