Objectives

The aim of this course is to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the terminological definition of antisemitism, its historical, theological, psychological, sociological and political processes. How this sensational term, which has taken its place in the minds of societies, finds a response in today's modern societies and the social, theological and cultural effects of these processes will be discussed. In addition, the historical development of antisemitism and theoretical approaches will be examined, ensuring that participants gain comprehensive information on the subject.

How antisemitist approaches affect state policies and the changing face of antisemitism will be discussed within the scope of modern societies. In this process, the importance of cultural diversity and social harmony is emphasized, and it is aimed for participants to gain competence in these areas.

Another important aim of the training is to express that, contrary to popular belief, antisemitism is a reaction belonging to Western civilization. In addition, the role of the media in antisemitism and xenophobia will be discussed. Because in light of recent events, this concept is portrayed as belonging to the Arab world and everyone of Muslim origin living in Europe is labeled as anti-Semitic.

Finally, efforts will be made to increase the participants' level of knowledge and to provide them with the ability to think healthily about biased events that they may encounter in various media. The training aims to raise conscious, highly aware and solution-oriented individuals.

Definition en Methodology

This course comprehensively addresses the social, religious, psychological, political and cultural dimensions of the concept of anti-Semitism. The aim of the training is to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the historical background, religious reflections and political materialization of anti-Semitism. In this context, its conceptual and historical development, assimilation and genocide processes, cultural diversity, social harmony and the effects of the media on anti-Semitism propaganda will be examined in detail. Participants will benefit greatly from the training by utilizing various teaching approaches.

Weekly Schedule (2 hours per week)

Week 1: Basic Concepts: Definition of Antisemitism, Prejudice, Stereotypes and Discrimination

GOAL: To create a general framework with related terms by making a general definition.

  • Literary Definition of Antisemitism

Week 2: Antisemitism and Its Historical Development

GOAL: To memorize the historical development of antisemitism.

  • Global consequences of antisemitism


Week 3: Psychological Reflections of Antisemitism

GOAL: To address the human reflections of antisemitism and its effects on one's self.

  • Racist Antisemitism

  • Interpersonal Antisemitic Expressions


Week 4: Social Reflections of Antisemitism

GOAL: To reveal the social wounds caused by antisemitism.

  • Hate Language

  • Xenophobia

Week 5: Eco-Political Reflections of Antisemitism

GOAL: To understand the theological, political and economic discourses of antisemitism.

  • Interrelationships between Jewish, Christian and Muslim societies in the historical process

  • Reflection of religious and cultural differences in Western thought on administration

  • Exile, diaspora, ghetto and pogrom processes

Teaching Methods to be Used
  1. Theoretical Lecture: The course will cover basic concepts, historical development and theories related to antisemitism. Learning the historical and conceptual basis of these topics will enable participants to develop their analysis skills.

  2. Case Analysis: Participants' knowledge and analysis skills will be developed by examining the cases of exile, rebellion, assimilation, pogrom and genocide that Jewish communities have been subjected to throughout their historical development. The problems and consequences that Jews have encountered during these destruction processes are discussed through case studies.

  3. Group Discussions: Topics such as cultural codes, minority rights, freedom of belief and cultural diversity will be discussed in group discussions. Participants learn to think multi-dimensionally and critically about social problems by listening to different perspectives.

  4. Applied Studies: Applied studies will be conducted on topics such as exclusion, humiliation, hate crimes and social pressure in education. This will provide participants with the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in practice and to develop empathy.

  5. Media and Data Analysis: Participants will have the ability to conduct data analysis by discussing issues related to media representation of antisemitism and media literacy. The role of the media in antisemitism propaganda processes will be critically addressed.The aim of these approaches is to provide participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills by using formal and informal education methods. It is also expected that they will help them develop a well-rounded expertise on antisemitism.

Certification

At the end of the training, you will be eligible to receive a certificate issued by IDEIS Training and Research Institute. Upon completing the training program, your certificate will be prepared in Turkish, English, and Dutch within 7 business days, available both as a physical and digital certificate/transcript. You will be able to download the certificate from the system or request a physical copy to be sent to an address you specify. If you request a physical shipment, an additional fee will be required. If the physical shipment is requested but not received and the certificate is returned to our institution, a fee will be charged for resending. Shipping fees may vary based on the participant's location. The rates of courier companies will be requested, and participants will be informed via email before the certificate is shipped.

Employees, graduates, and students currently continuing their studies in relevant fields who wish to develop themselves personally and professionally can apply for the certified training program. Graduates of teaching and pedagogy departments, as well as associate and four-years bachelor's degree graduates in fields such as social services, psychology, sociology, psychological counseling and guidance, education, medicine, nursing, and child development, are eligible to participate in this program.

  2. Applications that have not been properly submitted will not be accepted.

  3. You can complete your registration process online.

  7. After the payment, a receipt will be sent to the email address you provided during registration.

  12. Post-program evaluations will be conducted either online or offline using methods such as project work, exams, multiple-choice tests, presentations, mutual report preparation with relevant institutions, and similar techniques.

  13. The entire certification program, including the examination period, lasts for a total of 6 weeks.

  14. You have two free attempts for evaluations.

  15. Candidates who successfully pass the post-program evaluation will be eligible to receive the certificate.

  16. At the end of the certification program, participants will be awarded a "Certificate Document."

Until when can I take the project or exam?

The duration for taking the project or exam is defined at the beginning of the program and typically lasts for 8 weeks. You can take the exam within this period. The deadline will be clearly indicated on the system.

Do I have another chance if I fail the project or exam?

Can I retake the exam to improve my score if I pass the project or exam?
